19 May  –  Pentecost Sunday at 5pm

People from churches around the city are welcome to come to Waiapu Cathedral for a non-denominational Pentecost worship service.

A change from our usual traditional Evensong and Eucharist services – so come and worship in spirit and song!

During the 10 days of Pentecost, you can join in prayer by signing up online here.

 

June

22 June –  SING IN 2024

Singers!  Spend time on Saturday 22 June learning new music (or confidently singing old favourites), meeting singers from other choirs and having some fun making music.  Ability to read music is helpful.  Some Rutter and Vivaldi is on the programme and we will work towards a short concert at the end of the day for family and friends.

12 July – The Choir of Christ’s College, Cambridge, England

This superb student choir from Cambridge University has visited Napier before and given a superb concert.  We expect the same!  Programme and ticket info to be advised

14 July  – Eugene Lavery, Organist

New Zealand-American organist, Eugene is currently organise and direct of music at St Albans Episcopal church, Waco, Texas.

Waiapu Cathedral in Napier CBD

21 July  – Art Deco Service, 10am Sunday

Waiapu Cathedral has a tradition of being part of our city’s award-winning Art Deco Festivals.  This time put on your Sunday best 1930s winter coat and hat and join us for a jazz communion service, with toe-tapping Spirituals from the cathedral choir, and some rousing popular hymns for the congregation to sing!
