Contractors have been in action for the last three weeks with the planned schedule of maintenance and repairs to the roof of Waiapu Cathedral in central Napier.

The scaffolding is currently on the western end of the church where the contractors are clearing gutters, fixing edges and repairing areas of roof that have been leaking.  The western end has been a priority.

The scaffolding will then be moved to the eastern end of the building for further maintenance to be done, and then to the southern side.  The work is expected to take a few months.

A refurbish of the kitchen in the Cathedral is also underway.  New cabinets and a larger bench space will make the space more efficient for our parishioners to use.
