Palm Sunday - Holy Week
10.00 AM Service, 29 March
From the hoped-for entry into Jerusalem celebrated at Palm Sunday, followed by Jesus’ arrest, trial and death during Holy Week, to the discovery of his resurrection by his friends on Easter Sunday, Holy Week is a special time for the Christian church and everyone who wants to understand the life and mission of Jesus Christ.
Join with us as we remember when Jesus had his triumphal entry into Jerusalem, as he fulfilled the Scriptures leading to his sacrifice.
A procession of palms from outside the Cathedral will take us into a choral service with uplifting music from the organ and choir – making this a memorable service to open Holy Week.
We will distribute to the congregation small palm crosses made from the previous year’s fronds as a remembrance of this special day.
The 8am Palm Sunday service will also celebrate in a quiet way without music for people who like a contemplative time.
