Nine Lessons & Carols is a very special Waiapu Cathedral tradition with our superb choir and organ.  

Hear the story of the promise of the Messiah and the birth of Jesus in nine short readings (lessons) interspersed with carols and anthems from the choir, and join in singing some well-known carols.

This service first began on Christmas Eve 1918 when Kings College, Cambridge in England started the tradition after World War I; this very special service has been broadcasted by the BBC at Christmas since 1928.
