Glorious Glorias - Sing-In event for choir singers

Saturday 22 June, Sing-IN from 12.30pm, public Concert at 5.00pm

The Cathedral Choir welcomes other choral singers to sing together and present a public concert at the end of the afternoon.

Glorious Glorias Sing-In  is an opportunity for choral singers to come together and rehearse Glorias by Vivaldi and Rutter. These composers offer contrasting styles – classical baroque and classical contemporary – giving singers variety and challenge.

The Sing-In is open to all-comers, for current and past choral singers who’d like to sing with others, and also to anyone wanting to try choir singing again. The ability to read music is helpful but not essential (but the ability to count is!).  We provide afternoon tea to keep your energy up and its an opportunity to socialise.

The cathedral’s Musical Director Anthony Tattersall will once again lead the Sing-In choir as we rehearse the music and bring it to a ‘performance-ready’ state for a short concert at 4.30pm.

Singers – $25 (students $15) to cover the music hire. You can book your place and music through this link to iticket.co.nz
Concert entry – $10 per person, door sales

Traffic Note: The street around the cathedral is now a one-way system with access via Cathedral Lane from Tennyson St.  This offers improved parking and a drop-off area immediately outside the main cathedral doors if needed.
