Sunday 30 November, 7.00pm – Advent Carols Service with Cathedral Choir
Saturday 20 December, 5.00pm – Gala Christmas Concert with Octavius choral group, Hawke’s Brass Quintet, Cathedral Strings and Cathedral Choir. Free entry with a retiring Koha – give what you wish at the end of the concert.
Sunday 21 December, 7.00pm – Nine Lessons and Carols service, hear the Christmas story with the Cathedral Choir.
Wednesday 24 December, 6.00-7.00pm – Christmas Play for Families. An opportunity for children and adults to dress up and act out the Christmas story. FREE family event.
Wednesday 24 December, 11.00pm – Midnight Mass service, Missa Carolae, Whitbourn, with carols.

Advent Study
John the Baptist is the focus of the Gospel readings on two out of four Sundays in Advent. Only two Gospels begin with Jesus’ birth, but all four preface Jesus’ ministry with John the Baptist. Some of what we know (or think we know) about him is tradition, rather than anything historical.
