WALKING GROUP, 3rd Saturday

The walking group programme has been updated for the next few months – see the poster below or print out the PDF.  We walk out and about on the 3rd Saturday of the month.  Each walk takes about 1 – 1 1/2 hrs; if you’d like to be sociable but are not sure about the fitness/distance required, check with Dale. You are always welcome to just join us for coffee and a chat. If you can recommend a new pathway, let us know so we can enjoy more of our wonderful Hawke’s Bay outdoors!

PINS & NEEDLES, last Saturday

Pins and Needles is a friendly group of people who enjoy a social time of crafting.  Bring your own knitting, stitching, crochet, or weaving project to share a relaxed time working and chatting with others. If you need advice or a lesson there’s probably someone there who can help – so this is a good group to bring a friend to or to learn a new skill.

The last Saturday of the month – and a sunny spot is usually found in the Cathedral plus morning tea is provided.

ARCHIVES SUPPORT

Scanning and transcription volunteers for Diocesan Registers
Do you have time in a day, morning, or afternoon to spare? One of the more fascinating tasks in the cathedral at the moment is scanning and transcribing our Baptism, Marriage, and Burial registers to preserve our history.

Skill set required?  Confidence using an Excel spreadsheet plus ability to read cursive writing (and decipher various handwriting styles!). You are given training to use the scanner.

Please contact Jenny Cawston 027 4352947 or Jillian King 021 2034387 for more info.
