All Souls' Service, 2 November

23 October 2025

When someone dies who was important to us, they remain a part of our lives and are held in our love and memories.

Following a very old custom, we will hold a special service on Sunday 2 November at 5.00pm, here at the Cathedral, to remember those who have died.

This is an opportunity for family members and friends to spend a special time remembering their loved ones, to acknowledge their grief and sorrow, and to light a candle in prayerful remembrance of them. A lighted candle says the things our words can’t say. The flame gives thanks for those whose lives were a light in our lives. It also reminds us that our love for them, and theirs for us, lives on – held in the embrace of God’s undying love.

If you can’t attend this service but would like us to prayerfully remember someone who has died, please give their name to one of the clergy, or to Charlene in the parish office, or write it on the form which is available at the back of the Cathedral.
