Join with us as we celebrate the Christmas season with special services.

We welcome everyone into the Cathedral to celebrate the special peace and joy of Christmas with us.  Traditional carols, new carols, readings, prayers for peace and joy embellish every service to give you hope and joy! 

Christmas Eve, 24 December
Family Nativity Service at 5pm – We welcome children and their families to take part in the Christmas story, with activities and stories.  Mary, Joseph and the baby and the many marvellous things that happened in Bethlehem 2000 years ago.

Midnight Mass at 11pm  – Join with us in this stunning choral service where we celebrate the birth of Jesus with carols and communion.

Christmas Day – Hallelujah!
Early Bird Christmas Service at 8am –  An early traditional service with Christmas carols and communion. If you have lots of family coming for gifts and a feast, bring them to this early service to get into the true Christmas spirit.

Ormond Chapel Christmas Service at 9am – Celebrate Christmas with a family service in the cosy historic Ormond Chapel on Napier Terrace – carols, readings and the special Ormond family spirit!  (Seats 40)

Christmas Day Choral Service at 10am – Christmas with bells, massive organ, and yes, our wonderful choir is back again after Midnight Mass and leading you in more carols. All you imagine a Christmas Day service to be!
