Civic Choir Concert in Cathedral, 19 June

tuesday 14 june 2022

Napier Civic Choir and the Hawke’s Bay Orchestra are in concert in the Cathedral on Sunday 19 June at 2.30pm.

José Aparicio will conduct the choir and orchestra in a performance of Bruckner’s Te Deum and Mendelssohn’s Hymn of Praise.

The choir’s programme describes Bruckner’s Te Deum as a window into the composer’s expansive world where the textures of the music have been so influential on 20th century cinematographic music. The positive energy and candid beauty of Mendelssohn’s Hymn of Praise is a refreshing experience in the difficult times the world is experiencing.

For details of this concert and the other performances on Friday and Saturday at the Blyth PAC, please check the choir’s Facebook page.  Tickets will be sold at the door.

All welcome – please note that the Cathedral covid policy requires the audience to wear face masks throughout the concert.
